SERVICES FOR DIVORCED PARENTS

Are you going through a divorce and worried about the kids staying organized in two households?

Do you worry that your co-parent will not know what school assignments are due or that the children won’t have what they need?

Ironhill Educators can help.

Stacy Eisenberg O’Neill will meet with co-parents to discuss strategies and tools to keep both homes consistent.

The underlying plan for all of our clients is to build a strong foundation and to teach life skills.

Stage 1: 90 minute intake in both homes will consist of the following:

  • Review the child’s academic history

  • Go through the child’s study space in both homes
  • Learn about the child’s homework routine
  • Discuss tools for staying organized in both homes

Stage 2: Consists of follow-up sessions to include the following topics:

  • Filling out a weekly/monthly calendar of assignments and appointments consistent in both homes
  • Discussing techniques to ensure that both homes have supplies the child needs for school and all activities.
  • Discussing technology that can assist with communication between co-parents.

Our experience has shown that the most effective outcomes occur when a family works on a weekly basis to reinforce the skills discussed in the initial intake. Of course the appropriate action plan for each family is determined on a case-by-case basis at the time of the initial intake.
